Outdoor Living

Space Design/Build

Your backyard has more potential than most people use. An outdoor living space design brings decks, season rooms, pergolas, patios, and gazebos together into outdoor areas built for how you actually want to spend time outside.

Scheibe Construction has been designing and building these spaces across McHenry, Lake, Kane, and Walworth counties for over.

25 years, using materials and construction methods built to handle Northern Illinois weather.

Option 01

Decks

A deck is often the starting point for a bigger outdoor living plan, and sometimes it's the whole project on its own.

New deck construction

New deck construction starts with how you plan to use the space, whether for dining, lounging, grilling, or all three, and is planned around your home's layout and yard. We handle framing, decking material selection, railing, and stairs, building each deck to hold up to daily use and Illinois seasons.

New & modern deck products

Decking choices have come a long way in recent years. We work with modern options such as composite decking as well as traditional wood, giving you the flexibility to choose a material based on its appearance, maintenance needs, and long-term value for your project.

Deck replacement & refresh — updating or replacing an old deck

An aging deck with worn boards, loose railing, or an outdated layout doesn't always need a full rebuild from the ground up, but it does need an honest look at what's structurally sound and what isn't. Deck replacement projects range from replacing decking material on a solid frame to a complete rebuild when the substructure has reached the end of its life. Either way, we assess the existing structure first so you know exactly what you're working with before we start.

New 3 & 4 season room additions

A 3-season room provides enclosed space for use during milder weather, while a 4-season room includes insulation and climate control for year-round use. We build both as new additions to your home, handling the structural and glazing work every season room needs, along with the added insulation and climate requirements specific to a 4-season room.

Design & layout to match your home

A season room should feel like a natural extension of your home rather than something attached afterward. We match the existing architecture through the roofline, window placement, and exterior finishes so the new space blends with the house and looks like part of the original design.

Built as part of a larger outdoor living project

Season rooms frequently connect directly to a deck or patio, creating one continuous outdoor living area rather than a collection of separate features. When that's part of your plan, we design and sequence the season room alongside the deck or patio work so the finished spaces function and look like one project.

Pergolas

Custom pergola design & build

A custom pergola adds structure and partial shade to a patio or deck without enclosing the space. We design pergolas sized and positioned for your specific outdoor area, in materials that match your home's existing exterior finishes.

Custom patio design & build

A custom patio creates an outdoor area for seating, dining, or entertaining, with its elevation and layout planned around your yard. It can work as a standalone feature or complement an existing deck or season room. We build patios with options such as pavers or natural stone and plan the grading and drainage carefully so the surface can handle Illinois weather and seasonal freeze-thaw conditions.

Custom roofed gazebo design & build

A roofed gazebo provides overhead shelter from sun and rain for an outdoor seating or dining area while keeping the space open to the outdoors. We design and build gazebos to match your home's roofline and exterior materials, positioned to fit your yard's layout.
